Kindness Tree w/ Leaves to write Compliments (Random Acts of Kindness Activity)

Description

Students write Kindness leaves to each other to add to a Kindness Tree bulletin board. This Kindness Tree Activity includes individual 8.5 x 11 Trees as well as a large Kindness Tree for a Bulletin Board Display! Perfect for a Kindness Week, Kindness Day, Random Acts of Kindness Week or any similar celebration of Kindness!

Individual Trees: Have students complete their trees individually. I like to laminate them and send home to parents as a gift! Choose the Color or Black & White version.

Bulletin Board: Print the leaf templates on green, red, and yellow paper for a beautiful tree. I like to make the tree trunk out of construction paper or crumpled brown tissue paper. You can also print out the included tree trunk. It makes a beautiful, interactive bulletin board! Choose the Color or Black & White version.

Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 14 – 20th, but you can use the Kindness Tree anytime of the year!

You can use the Kindness Tree in many ways:

• Students are each assigned a class member to write a Kindness Leaf for complimenting them or thanking them for something kind. You can assign students or pick randomly.
• Students can write leaves at any time when someone is kind to them or another person. I have students write these leaves and put them in my “Teacher’s Eyes-Only Box” on my desk. Then we open the box at the end of the day and staple all the new leaves to the tree.
• I write leaves for students when I catch them doing something kind as well!
• Ask parents or teachers to write a leaf for students too!
